“The BPS model for care is a fundamental shift from the way we as chiropractors were trained many years ago. We were schooled in the idea of the physical/biological model of taking a history, performing an examination, creating a treatment plan and treatment itself, The BPS approach to care is truly a more wholistic way of seeing our patients from the beginning of the patient encounter all the way through to patient management and follow-up. A psychologist who taught us in third year when I was at CMCC said that every patient has a psychological and social component that has to be appreciated and integrated into our treatment modalities.
