“The BPS model for care is a fundamental shift from the way we as chiropractors were trained many years ago. We were schooled in the idea of the physical/biological model of taking a history, performing an examination, creating a treatment plan and treatment itself, The BPS approach to care is truly a more wholistic way of seeing our patients from the beginning of the patient encounter all the way through to patient management and follow-up. A psychologist who taught us in third year when I was at CMCC said that every patient has a psychological and social component that has to be appreciated and integrated into our treatment modalities. I always remember that lesson and in taking this course that lesson is now completely validated. Kudos to you Shawn and your colleagues on an excellent presentation. I recommend this excellent e-seminar to all my colleagues!"
“Mastering the Biopsychosocial Approach was a very thoughtful course on the practical implementation of the BPS model into everyday practice. One of the things that I have always struggled with was translating the knowledge that we should be using the BPS model to what does that actually mean for me on a daily basis in clinic. The course instructors do a great job breaking down the principles in practical ways that you can implement into your clinical practice tomorrow!"
“This E-Seminar was packed with great, practical tips on using a psychosocial approach, in addition to the traditional biological aspects, to better connect with our patients, and ultimately, to better help them!"

The information presented is on strategies that are easily implemented on Monday morning in your practice and will make a huge difference for you and your patients. Great e-seminar, really enjoyed discussions about the overall perspectives of a patient encounter, not just the treatment itself.

The E seminar Mastering the Biopsychosocial Approach was very informative and enjoyable to follow through. Some of the classic cookie cutter processes we go through on a daily basis with patients can be highly enhanced with ideas and concepts from this seminar. Communication with your patient is so important in gaining trust and this program dovetails nicely with your patient interaction. I highly recommend the program.

Dr. Don Fitz-Ritson – January 19, 2026 The E seminar Mastering the Biopsychosocial Approach was well presented and easy to follow. It pointed out key concepts and stressed that communication with the patient was very important for building trust with the patient. All chiropractors should be aware of the ideas and concepts in this E seminar.

I completed the E-Seminar: Mastering the Biopsychosocial Approach: A Contemporary Lens for Chiropractors and found the material exceptionally well-researched and the production top-notch. I found the overall content to be some of the best in the business, making the 4 hours of content engaging while simultaneously ensuring this content can translate to practice. Dr. Thistle assembled an all-star team of clinicians and scientists who walk-the-walk and, in fact, write-the-walk when it comes to biopsychosocial care delivery and conducting research on the topic. The presenters distill complex papers and concepts in relatable ways. This course showcased all that chiropractors can aspire to be in clinical practice through strong and humbling communication, chiropractor-patient rapport building, and interpersonal engagement. The content did not feel intimidating and is the type of professional development I will seek out even in the absence of approved continuing education credit. I cannot recommend this content more to practicing chiropractors as well as advanced trainees who rotate through my clinics.
